GHOST HOUSE

Ahead of you is a simple wooden door. The path ends here.

KLAIR

Alright. I guess this is all the clues we get, then.

BONNIE

An e-mail, a makeup kit, a photo, and an engagement ring. That's a couple less clues than what Nick gave us...

ISSAC

We have her last name, and the first letter of her first name. We can guess from there. I mean, how many women's names start with L?

KLAIR

...A lot. And that's just assuming she doesn't have a neutral name, or even a masculine name. Some people do that, Issac.

ISSAC

Hmm. Yeah. Shit.

LEON

Look in the makeup kit.

KLAIR

What?

Leon doesn't respond. He just stares at you, expressionless. After a moment, you open up the makeup kit.

There's nothing inside of it except for a little scrap of paper, taped to the underside of the lid. In shaky handwriting, you see a name.

KLAIR

...Lydia. Leon, how'd you know that?

LEON

Know what?

KLAIR

O-Okay.

Bonnie pulls out all the clues and sits on the floor. You sit with her.

BONNIE

Lydia Roe. She was going to get married, but her parents didn't want to attend the wedding because... This sucks.

KLAIR

If you want to sit this one out, that's fine. None of us would hold it against you.

BONNIE

It's fine, I just... jeez. I know I said I'd tell my parents... about... things, when you left for college. But I still haven't! And... I don't know, I guess I'm scared mine will react like this, too.

ISSAC

No way. Your parents are pretty cool with stuff like that, I think.

LEON

And if they weren't, mine would just adopt the fuck out of you.

BONNIE

I'm nineteen! I don't think you can adopt a legal adult.

KLAIR

You get the point, Bon. If you parents won't have you, we will. We love you!

BONNIE

...Thanks, you guys.

KLAIR

Anyways, I think that's all we actually do know. She was going to get married, her parents sucked, she wound up here.

ISSAC

Maybe she pulled a Leon and ran off in the middle of the night.

LEON

That wasn't my fault.

KLAIR

Bai? Any input?

BAI

You're as accurate as the House lets you be!

KLAIR

Very helpful.

BAI

I mean... you're right, from what I see. She was going to get married, and her parents rejected her. She probably ran away into the woods in an upset fit and wound up here.

BONNIE

Well, it's something. Are we ready to go in...?

KLAIR

I'm not feeling the best thanks to messing up that riddle earlier, but I'll give it my best.
